I went to Wells for the weekend, which is a historical city in Somerset, England. I lived there for 9 years but never noticed the grave of Thomas Boleyn in the Cathedral. Obviously its not Anne's father, but could he be a relation? I haven't been able to find any more information on him, other than about the grave.
The tomb is on find a grave… http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-…..d=21018412

Given the date when this Thomas was a precentor of Wells (1451-1472) then possibly an uncle/great-uncle/distant cousin or even no relative at all.
RIP you need it agter getting your children killed for you own advancement.

As far as I can find out he would appear to be the same Thomas Boleyn who was the 7th master of Gonville and Caius college (see page 27 in history of same), as well as being precentor of Wells. Both posts being held until 1472. He was therefore brother to the Mayor of London and great-great-uncle to Anne (as reported in the history of Gonville and Caius). I will try to find out more (or indeed if this is accurate), in the meantime I hope this is of some help.

Anyanka, Looks like we were posting at the same time, so yes, it would seem we both have the right man (although unknown on the grave markings, 1472 is the reported year of his death in the history of Gonville and Caius)! Page 27 is contained in another version of the college history and seems to verify more clearly that he is the Thomas Boleyn we seek.
