Are there any books about Thomas Culpeper? and also any known portraits?

Apart from wanting to seduce Queen Catherine as he could have any woman he wanted, I struggle to find a motive for his actions, especially since he would have seen the downfall of Anne Boleyn first hand, so would have known exactly what Henry was capable of.

I don't believe there are any portraits of Culpeper. None that I could find, anyway.

I could not find any books dealing exclusively with Culpeper, but he is mentioned in most books dealing with Katherine Howard. Joanna Denny's bio on KH (not very good), but she does discuss TC. I have yet to read (I am awaiting it's arrival), but Lacey Baldwin-Smith's book A Tudor Tragedy  would discuss TC.

I hope this helps!

Thomas Culpepper. I would love to see a portrait of him. I wonder at the story of his raping a farmers wife.. Is it true?

E, there was somewhat of a debate about this.  My opinion is he did it.  Claire has written an article about it:

I'm in agreement with you Sharon and inclined to believe he did it… but just wondered on the evidence. Thanks for posting the article-I just can't seem to get it working at the moment.. I'll check back later!

Thanks Sharon! Wow- I never knew there were two of them! I wonder which it was who committed the crime?
