Today marks the 14th birthday of the Anne Boleyn Files blog, which is, of course, dedicated to the life, times and legacy of one of England’s most famous queens consort, Anne Boleyn.
It was on this very day in 2009, that I wrote my very first blog post here and I can’t quite believe how it’s grown and where it’s taken me in those 14 years. I never thought anyone would find my blog!
Over the past 14 years, the Anne Boleyn Files has attracted millions of visitors from all around the world with my articles, and also those written by other historians, authors and bloggers. Since 2009, I have dedicated myself to researching and writing about Anne Boleyn, and also the Tudor period. My dream had always been to be an author so I am thankful that starting this blog, with the encouragement and support I’ve received, led to me fulfilling that dream. My 14 history books include “The Anne Boleyn Collection,” “The Fall of Anne Boleyn,” “George Boleyn: Tudor Poet, Courtier and Diplomat” (co-authored by Clare Cherry), “On This Day in Tudor History” (and its sequel), and “The Boleyns of Hever Castle” (co-authored by Dr Owen Emmerson).
My journey has also involved historical tours, starting the Tudor Society site, being interviewed, writing articles for publications, doing podcasts, starting a YouTube channel, speaking in public, visiting historical places, holding Anne Boleyn’s Books of Hours, and meeting the most amazing people. I’m one blessed lady.
It has been a joy to share my passion for history with so many people around the world, and I hope to continue to do so for many more years.
As we celebrate the 14th anniversary of the Anne Boleyn Files blog, I am truly thankful for the community of Tudor history lovers, authors and historians who encourage each other on a daily basis, and for those who have challenged me to be a better writer, historian and person. Here’s to the Anne Boleyn Files website, Anne, Boleyn, the lady who inspires me every day, and to all of you. Thank you!
