Have you got that Friday feeling? I definitely have! It’s the end of another bust, but productive, week here at The Anne Boelyn Files. Here’s what’s been going on:-
Christmas – Well done those of you who have started Christmas shopping! We have made a few changes to the shop this week: new flat rates of $2.50 domestic and $4 international no matter how many items you buy (some heavier items have special prices) and we have also added an expedited shipping page to the checkout process so that you can choose priority or express shipping services too, for most products. I have also added a Christmas Ordering Deadlines page so that you know when you need to get your orders in by. Our jewellery is handmade so please get orders in early. The 30th November is the last date for standard international first class orders for items made by Daniela (“The Tudors” and Renaissance ranges) – NOW CHANGED TO 20th NOV.
- The Mary Rose 500 Appeal – Anne Boleyn is now officially a crew member of the Mary Rose because The Anne Boleyn Files has pledged to raise £500 for the Mary Rose 500 Appeal to help build a new Mary Rose Museum so that the 19,000 genuine Tudor artefacts can all be on display for the first time, along with the ship itself. Please help us to raise this money by clicking on the blue “Just Giving” logo on the right hand side. We will also be launching a special range of Mary Rose jewellery where the profits go to this appeal. I am even dieting for the appeal!
- The Mary Rose – I have just completed a special page on the history of the ship and you can see photos of some of the remarkably well-preserved artefacts on that page along with photos of facial reconstructions of crew members.

- The Lady in the Tower – Alison Weir’s “The Lady in the Tower” has been reviewed by historian John Guy in “The Sunday Times” and he questions Weir’s sources. Fiz, an Anne Boleyn Files visitor, pointed this out to me and first I thought it might be just one historian having a go at another but John Guy is Professor of History at Cambridge, whereas Alison Weir is not an academic like that. - The Anne Boleyn Experience 2010 – There are still rooms left for the Anne Boleyn Experience 2010 Tour and I have just booked The Henry Show VIII, a theatrical show which was performed at the Tower of London at Halloween, for the tour. It looks fantastic! See slideshow below.
